There's one thing I noticed with this whole thing. When you solve one problem, another opens up. In the case of mid-RoSaT, when you solve Gohan's apparent weakness and lack of SSj2, you have to find a solution to Piccolo's strength. For post-RoSaT, it's the opposite.
Gohan wasn´t able to go SSJ 2, since Broly isn´t Cell who wanted to tick off Gohan, Broly wanted to kill Goku and his group. Gohan isn´t a fighter he never had real praxis with his new learn´d powers and technics, Broly is way to raw and brutal to use them directly, thats the different Broly is no ordinary fighter like Cell was who fought actually elegant and with style directly, so Gohan never fought somebody like him and never fought anybody who didn´t had some kind of.. fighting skills, it was rather new for him. My theory pretty much.

Pre Rosat would get raped, Piccolo did as good as Goku did.

Once upon a time, there used to be a signature. Then it got lame, and now I'm out of options for a new one.

Well isnt it easy to say that they sent their super Saiyan energy through base form?
They didnt have to transform to give the power.

Super Saiyan power has been shown sometimes to be usable in base but not a lot
That's what I'm implying here. But some people like to think otherwise for their own reasons.

@ Ussj Future Trunks - Whatever bud. Go ahead and think whatever you want.

@ Kamikaze - Perhaps. But at least the Post-RoSaT side has the argument that the Gohan and Goku used in Movie 8 were the ones taken from before the start of the Cell Game, which would explain a lot. So theoretically they are Cell Game strength, just not at the level of strength they exhibited during the Cell Game. But I could also make the argument that Broly was just that much stronger than all of them. No one could be identified as doing a good job because they all were trash to him at the time.
